NEITI Exe Sec, Waziri Adio, follows DG BPSR @DrJoeAbah to publicly declare personal assets.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI, Waziri Adio, has made public details of his personal assets and that of his wife.

In a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES Wednesday, Mr. Adio said he was publicising the assets in line with the dictates of the Fifth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution and Section 15 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act.

Mr. Adio’s declaration came less than two months after he was named to the position by President Muhammadu Buhari, an action he said he took to encourage other public office holders to do so.

Mr. Adio also explained that he was declaring his assets publicly because he found it necessary to live up to an ideal he had always preached.

In openly declaring his assets, Mr. Adio followed in the footsteps of former President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, Dr. Kayode Fayemi (as governor of Ekiti State), Senator Shehu Sani, Dr. Joe Abah (the DG of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms) and Dr. Chidi Anslem Odinkalu (former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission),

A quick look at Mr. Adio’s declaration revealed that he had ₦3.8M in his account as at the end of March 2016.

He also has properties in Lambe, Ogun State; Abuja, Nigeria’s capita;l and in his native Iwo in Osun State. (PREMIUM TIMES)
