Federal Government commissions housing estates for public servants.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji 

The Federal Government has commissioned five housing estates built for public servants in the Federal Capital Territory as part of its corporate social responsibilities.

The five housing estates commissioned are named after four of the former Heads of the Civil Service of the Federation, Ambassador Abu Obe, Stephen Oronsaye, Isa Bello Sali and Professor Oladapo Afolabi, while the fifth of the estates is named after Bukar Goni Aji.

At the commissioning ceremony of the five estates financed by the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, an Agency in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed commended President Goodluck Jonathan for fulfilling his promise of providing additional funds for public servants to complete their housing projects.

The completion of the project he said was made possible through the establishment of Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company.

Bala Mohammed, who was represented at the occasion by Engineer U.J. Jibril, encouraged the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board to explore the new housing policy for more funding for the public servants housing scheme.

The minister used the occasion to appeal to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji to ensure that he secured a large expanse of land along Kubwa road which was provided by the Federal Capital Territory in 2011 for the provision of mass housing for workers in the FCT.
