Jonathan Constitutes Committee To Re-conduct Immigration
Recruitment
The Nigerian President, Goodluck
Jonathan, has approved the composition of a Special Presidential Committee to
assist the Civil Defence, Fire Service, Immigration and Prisons Board to re-conduct
the aborted recruitment exercise into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
The committee, set up on Wednesday,
is headed by the Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission and has the
Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service, representative of the Head of
Civil Service of the Federation, representative of the Commandant-General,
Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and representative of the
Comptroller, Prison Service as members.
Others members are representative of
the Corp Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission, representative of the
Director-General, Department of State Services, and Permanent Secretary,
Special Duties Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as
Secretary
A statement by the Secretary to the Government
of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, indicated that “the committee will liaise
with the Civil Defence, Fire Service, Immigration and Prisons Board and confirm
the actual number of personnel to be recruited.
