Falcons Protest |
The mandate, which comprises of a sum of N358 million for the Super Falcons, was paid by Central bank of Nigeria on Thursday, a statement signed by Kenechukwu N, on behalf of the Accountant General, said.
The payment follows the approval received from the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, after a protest by the Super Falcons shook the nation and embarrassed the government.
Nigerians have been shocked by the shameful treated meted on the players who brought honour to the country in Cameroon where they won the African Women Championship for a record eight time.
Another mandate for N113.8 million has also been released by Office of Accountant General of the Federation for the payment of winning bonus for Super Eagles in the 2018 World Cup Qualifying matches.
This amount has also been paid to Nigeria Football Federation and is equally sequel to the approval of the minister of finance.
